thank you for this article. I had no idea about the dangers of nail polish. I’d rather be healthy than wear toxic that has dangerous side effects. Just wow. I am throwing away all of it, my nail polish, clear nail polish, and remover. This is a sign because I thew out my fake nails a couple of months ago because the glue was tearing up my nails.

Hello, thank you so much for the article (also thanks to joan for sharing her story). This is very helpful.
Like joan, my father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer recently. And not only that, the doctor said it has been spread also in his lung and liver. We don’t want him to go through chemotherapy because it’d be painful — we believe that God will continue heal him (because GOD is the true HEALER!!) without chemotherapy. I think we’re going to try this lemongrass tea. God bless us all!

A fast and easy way to get rid of hiccups is to swallow water or something smooth in a bent over position. It disrupts the spasm and stops hiccups right away.

Interesting…my initial incident of cold urticaria was the night after spending hours on a beach (sandflies?). I had never had hives before, but was awakened in the middle of the night with them. I was in the hot sun for hours (not usual for me) earlier in the day, so thought that my trigger may have been overexposure to sun…perhaps I got chilled overnight and that caused the hives. Ever since, I have had cold hives…could not go outside this past winter without getting a flaming red face. Although the hives clears from my hands within half an hour, they remain sore for a day or so afterwards.

mine got better after a few months, didn’t swell anymore in the shower. But then I got bitten by sand flies again!!!! And now I definitely know the cause of my cold hives is by these sand flies because my cold hives are back in full force. Also, because I got bitten on both the arms and legs this time around, I was able to notice that when exposed to cold air, the first thing that swells up is the area around the sand fly bites before I start itching elsewhere.

like you, I hope it goes away soon. I am trying ginger to see if that will help because I loathe taking medicine.

I’ve had it too! been ard for 1 yr already! its jus unbearable.. at first i thought i was only allergied to air conditioning but no..cold weather too..=( I still remember when I was having my exams last sem in a air-conditioner room.. 1+ hrs later bumps started appearing on my fingers, toes, legs & started to itch and swell.. it was so unbearable tt i leave the examination room 1 1/2 hr before the paper ends.. I hid in the toilet for almost 30min for the hives to disappear.. And then later on i found out tt the ceterizine tt i had acquired from my doc for nose allergy sort of prevent the hives from appearing.. but i guess regular usage of the drug has diminishes its impact.. hives still appear although not as much when i consume the ceterizine.. It’s only today tt i found the name for this damn skin allergy is Cold Urticaria.. no one believes me when i told them i am allergy to the cold.. they jus laughed @ me.. I’ve read somewhere where it says tt this allergy usually last for abt avg 5-6 yrs..and i pray tt it will go away sooner..

you should visit the west coast of ireland sometime, it is incredibly beautiful, from kerry to clare to donegal…..its amazing!
