To Caffeine or Decaffeine (it depends on your weight)

If you’re going to drink coffee- go for the real thing! Unless you are overweight that is. Please read thru the entire post to see the big picture.


A study by the American Heart Association’s Scientific Sessions (Nov 2005) showed that decaffeinated — not caffeinated — coffee may cause an increase in harmful LDL cholesterol (which leads to heart disease) by increasing a specific type of blood fat linked to the metabolic syndrome. However, they also found that overweight people who take decaffeinated coffee and have low levels of HDL2 but normal levels of ApoB, might consider the potential benefit of drinking decaffeinated over caffeinated coffee.
